Magnified Moment

one morning I saw it

watching my father shave

in his swivel mirror.

one circle showed his human face

aged grey, wrinkled, nicked skin.

then he swung it on its axis.

his face magnified

in the reverse moon,

bristles thrice their size,

pores a diamond design.

a blood river cut

through a wild sea

over his shoulder

in a ring of silver,

I saw a thousand fathers rise,

large as gods.
